Is DuckDuckGo’s next version, which is in Beta, a serious contender against Google Search? I just read these two articles on the same and want your opinion, http://www.pcworld.com/article/2151527/duckduckgo-the-search-engine-that-doesnt-track-you-finally-challenges-google.html#tk.fb_pc and http://time.com/89345/duckduckgo-the-anti-google-is-about-to-become-a-far-more-powerful-google-alternative/ .

Google is the Mark of the Beast. It's goal is to take over the world and control the minds of all humans. I refuse to use it. I refuse to be enslaved. I use Ixquick.

The most important factor in establishing dominance on the internet is being there first with a good product. Google was there with a good product a long time ago. While I applaud DuckDuckGo's offer of offering a search service without tracking users, it's not going to unseat Google. The silly name also does not help (I know, Google is also a silly name, but less so, and... it was there first!). That said, DuckDuckGo and other search engines can become very successful in their own right. If they get, say, 0.1 percent of the traffic that Google gets, they'll be doing roaring business, thank you very much!

Google Search is part of an entire suite of applications. DuckDuckGo is only a search engine. Google is well entrenched. The only thing DuckDuckGo has going for it is that it does not track the users but most users do not give a damn about Google tracking them. Therefore, Google will continue to be the most used serch engine in the foreseable future. No matter how good DuckDuckGo is, it will not replace Google Serch unless Google does something monumentally stupid, like being a front for the NSA.
