How to tell from a DVD cover whether Windows 8.1 is the preview or full version?┬áThe box’s cover mentions Windows 8.1 Pro pack but the ‘preview’ word is not seen on front or back of cover.

hi. Please tell that if trial version is active , then would be displayed on the 'Properties' box of 'My computer'

    and

please tell , that product key is same as activation key ( _____ _____ ____ ____ ) while installing windows

The product code and activation key are not the same thing. The product code is what you type in during the installation. The activation key used the product code along with information about your processor, primary hard disk and other hardware to generate a unique key that is sent to the Microsoft activation servers. That is why an OS image that is restored to a new hard drive after a failure of the original will frequently require Windows to be reactivated. The same thing applies to other hardware upgrades as well.

Thanks. I request you to re-phrase the line "The activation key used the product code along with information about your processor, primary hard disk and other hardware to generate a unique key.." Is there a word not included after in between - "The activation key used the product code

Sorry. That should have been "The activation key USES the product code..." Microsoft pulls model and/or serial numbers from various components in the system Windows is being installed and runs it through an algorithm to create what should be a unique system identifier for that computer. It is statistically improbable that two machines would end up generating the same identifier so when this identifier is paired with the product code it creates a universally unique activation key for the installation.

Thanks. Please tell , that if windows is activated offline , then online server check process does not happen?

Machines that have gone through ANY Windows activation (online or offline) will occasionally be verified when the machine is online. I don't know if they still do it, but Windows Update at least used to check to see if Windows was activated and genuine before it would check, download or install updates. It wouldn't surprise me if they also did the check at random intervals and had other specific triggers for verification.

Thanks. Does this random check happen through win update?

hi. The question which you did not understand implies : say windows 7 has multiple editions like win 7 home basic , win 7 professional , win 7 Business edition , win 7 enterprise , win 7 Ultimate.
So can you weblink a reliable source which can mention how are the editions different in terms of using windows 7?

Please also tell , that if version is trial then what would be displayed instead of "windows is activated", in computer properties

If Computer Properties shows windows activated , then does it imply that both product code and activation key has been accepted , and windows is accepted as full ( non trial )? or is there a chance of failure of windows even after windows is activated on Computer properties and the windows has not yet connected to internet

if windows is in trial mode then in computers properties window you will get a message like: 30 days to activate. Activate Windows Now. After day 30, you will get the "Activate Now" message every hour, along with a notice that your Windows version is not genuine. The reason of Windows activation is to establish a link between a genuine licensed copy Windows and a specific computer system. Following installation, Windows takes some information (hardware signature) of your pc, like your video display adapter, processor type/serial number, hard drive serial number...to form a unique identity for your pc.
If there is a failure this should not give troubles since windows is already activated.

Other methods to make think Windows is genuine is using Windows Loader, "well known for passing Microsoft's WAT (Windows Activation Technologies) and is arguably the safest Windows activation exploit ever created. The application itself injects a SLIC (System Licensed Internal Code) into your system before Windows boots; this is what fools Windows into thinking it's genuine."

you can backup your activation key and restore that if necessary

Thanks. Does Windows Loader substitute online activation process?

and windows activated ( in Computer - Properties ) indicate that both product code and online activation key process are implemented?

Thanks. Please tell do you mean that if windows loader has activated windows , then it nullifies online server check?

    • Hovsep A
      February 14, 2014 at 11:41 am

well if you are online i doubt it nullifies online server check? i dont exactly how it works, but it loads before windows is loading, now you dont have to go into troubles just activate windows in legal way and you should be OK

    • Drsunil V
      February 16, 2014 at 2:32 pm

Ofcourse I aprove the legal way. This is to know how to avoid troubles with such software. Please tell that if it loads before windows loads, so online check won't nullify loader's activation? and same loader file can be used for multiple installations?

well first i believe you get activated Windows but latter ON some time later you get a message Windows not genuine....this can be because Windows check later also or you applied some updates....;as i said myself never used it, the tool is changed so scenarios are changed maybe they checked some microsoft security things related to Windows activation and maybe not....so decision is yours to use or not to use the tool.
