How can I sync to Gmail or Hotmail and receive Contact info with a non-smartphone?

I have an non-smart old phone, and it serves me just fine. The only problem is that it is so old, Verizon no longer supports the phone with their ‘Backup Assistant’. Furthermore, I’d much prefer to sync with either a Google Contacts app or Hotmail Contacts.

Is there any software/Non-smart phone combo that will allow this ?

Thanks in advance,
Joe V.

You're in luck. Yes, there's a app for that.

Justin Pot wrote a mind blowing follow up piece to an earlier article by Jessica Cam Wong on how unsmartphones can sync to a variety of services, which include Gmail, using a webservice called "If This Then That".

The service basically automates Gmail (or GCal, etc...) to send you an SMS with the relevant updates (e-mails, notifications, etc...). It's regarded as highly configurable so it's possible to use the service in many more ways than I've detailed here. Good luck!

Joe, I suspect that the answer is no in any event, but without knowing the make and model of the phone it's impossible to answer your question. Can you add those details please?
