Why is the source box missing from my OS X screensaver options?

Don Kearney asks:

I am unable to select a new source for a screen saver. The source box does not appear, instead I get a “Screen Saver Options” box.

Any help is appreciated!

If you are using latest version of OS X,then you might assume that Apple has removed that button. There are also many annoyances.

Are you using the lastest OS X? Quite Disappointing on some point, isn’t it? For many reasons Apple has changed a lot of features in his OS and the screensaver preference pane was on his list. The common interface clutter is not the same anymore. Just take your time and get yourself used to the new interface. Good luck

If you are in snow leopard you should be fine. If not then my best guess is that Apple has indeed screwed it up…
