We had to wipe my computer clean and when I went to use my restore disc it was corrupted. I now have everything on my memory that we could get from other sources.
I really need a VAIO PCV-RS530G restore disc. Sony says they are no longer available but for $130 they will restore it for me.
Is this legit? Does anyone have a restore disc for this model?

The long way around would also be to just install Windows and download the drivers from the Sony website.

That' what I did with my system.
      - The pros: got rid off all that bloatware that came preinstalled.
      - The cons: some of those that were installed were actually quiet
      useful, i.e. Adobe Photoshop Elements

You can check it out here if they have the disc for the particular model. The second option could be to find out anyone who is using the particular model and ask him for his set.
The link to the Sony support site is this .
