there are lots of other companies that offer sms services depending on your activities.
As we are using opencart which is an e-commerce platform, we needed a sms provider to send an alert for each order. Here are some of those providers :

    Hope that will help.

If you want to receive an SMS every day whether your computer is on or not you need to use a web-based program; your computer by definition cannot do anything when it's off.

Having said that, I highly recommend IFTTT for this: http://ifttt.com/

Create a new task. Set the "if this" to be a certain time and the "then that" to be an SMS message. You could even set the SMS to contain relevant information, if you want; play with it.

I agree, IFTTT is totally the way to go, if the computer is turned off.

You can try search for any online service, but you have to pay to those sites...
As much as I know, mostly of the sites out there offer scheduling!

In order for ANY software to be running on a computer, the computer MUST be ON. There are NO exceptions.
