How do I change Ubuntu to permit ctl-alt-f1 to give me a text-“session” without being root? How do I get ctrl-alt-del to shutdown without being root?

How do I make the annoying warning about my home directory being set to be rwx by all the way I want it to be?

With regard to shutdown, the best probable way to go is to edit the sudo rule in the sudoer file. Here are some tips: http://ghazalisco.wordpress.com/2010/02/06/adding-user-and-sudo-rule-in-the-sudoers-file/
