I have downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 trial version. When I try to scan I am getting message “scanner not connected”. I use scanner on other programs and have no problems scanning. How do I get Adobe Photoshop to run correctly when scanning?

    Hi

One trick in Windows XP SP2 is to open the device manager and delete the USB
Controller and reboot. This makes the OS load the correct USB driver. You
may also have reinstall the scanner driver.

    or
Go to c:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop Elements 8LocalesPlug-InsImport-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.

    or try
Hold down the Alt + Ctrl + Shift keys as you click on the icon to open Elements. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say yes. Also, if these are network printers do remove them and check.

Now launch PSE and check if it works
