Data24-7 has a service which allows you to inexpensively ($0.006 each) look-up the email-to-sms gateway addresses for your phone numbers. Once you have the email addresses, you can send unlimited messages for free via email. Their website is: http://www.data24-7.com

    Hi Becky
I also replied to your question about mass emails. The same issues apply. Without compliance to some regulations and without having people opt in and having servers that can handle that volume, chances are you'd end up blacklisted as spam. Just something to consider.

I doubt you will find a site that allows you to send bulk sms messages for free.

I would check out this post that has a list of sites to send single free sms's for free http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/10-sites-to-send-free-text-messages-to-cell-phones-sms/

And I would particularly point out http://www.clickatell.com/ as there service is really good

And I would recommend http://tatango.com/ - although I have never used it, I think it will suit you perfectly.

Think about this if you were in a companies shoes. Would you let people to send bulk sms messages that can cost you 2 cents a message to people for free? Unless they have sort of advertising that can actually pay for the demand, then you may find it for free. But if you are a business, doubt you will find it for free.

How many do you plan to send in bulk? 100, >1000?

You could probably send them for free, but you would have to spend hours doing surveys.

There are sites that act as a third party SMS application (meaning not affiliated with your service provider) that allow you to do this. Look it up in google.
