July 4, 20121. Click on the ‘Tools’ menu then ‘Account Settings’
2. Select your gmail account.
3. To your right, you will see the settings. Ensure ‘Outgoing Server (SMTP)’ is set to ‘smtp.googlemail.com’.
Postbox outgoing server for my gmail is smtp.googlemail.com.The problem still exists.
July 9, 2012I am sure outgoing server is set to smtp.googlemail.com.But the problem still exists.

July 4, 2012Unless Postbox gave you some specific error message I agree it’s either your firewall or (more likely) your SMTP settings.

July 9, 2012This is what I did.
If you have another email account then start with a couple of test mails. For example I have a Bredband (my isp) account and a Gmail account.
I sent a test mail from
Bredband to Bredband
Bredband to Gmail
Gmail to Gmail
Gmail to Bredband
The one I was having a problem with was the same as you Gmail.
These are the settings for Gmail POP account out going mail.
smtp.googlemail.com
Port 465
Authentication: password
Connection security SSL/TLS
for incoming mail
pop.googlemail.com
Security SSL/TLS
Authentication: password
Port 995
Click on advanced and select Global inbox – local map and click OK
Test again.
A point to note, Gmail is slower than my ISP and receiving mail on my machine so give it a minute.
Let us know how you get on or if you found another solution. It will help others.
I don’t see Click on advanced and select Global inbox – local map
