Is there a way to take scanned text and enter it into Excel?

I’d like to scan a list I found in a magazine and convert the text, so that it can be entered into a xls format. I’m guessing an OCR utility might be needed.

If you are willing to pay for OCR software, get Nuance Omnipage or Abbyy FineReader (I prefer the latter) and use them to scan & OCR the document. They should automatically detect the table, but if they don't, you can manually highlight the area and designate it as a table. You will get the option to save the document as an Excel file or some other format readable by excel.
