Hello, Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 7 doesn’t have scanning by itself.  By you could get the Microscan plug-in from the link below.  When using Microscan, you can use custom scan to use your own scanning software which will give you more options than microscan by itself.  Visit the link provided and scroll down until about the middle of page and you will find: Dmitry Malutin’s MicroScan.  There is a download link at the bottom of the description and also the option of visiting the author’s site:
