    Yes it goes away after a few seconds

    i can not get this hourglass to go away, ever

    Yes I have the same problem but the hour glass goes away after about 2 hours and its normal. When the hour glass is on videos seem choppy. I read where google may have something to do with it(GTB.exe) but not sure. I have also ran a number of programs to solve it, defrag, virus, malware etc but still happens.

    A little more detail is appreciated. Does this happen constantly? Does it ever go away? Do you notice your computer slowing down?

    Check your cursor settings in Control Panel. Perhaps someone played a prank on you and changed your pointer to the hourglass.

    Just an assumption.
