Is it possible to remote control Adobe Flash Player?

Benjamin asks:

Wouldn’t it be awesome to watch Youtube videos from your couch? I’d like to do that (especially since I got a really big screen for my PC) without having to run up to the desk to pause the video when I get a call etc.

Can the Adobe Flash plugin, running inside a browser, be remote controlled? If yes, what kind of software would that require running on my PC, and what kind of remote control would I need to use (please say I can use my smartphone! Pierogi on the N900 maybe?)?

I have Linux as well as Windows, and prefer using the Opera browser, but others work for me too, but I’m guessing this shouldn’t depend too much on the platform?

Browser: Opera 12.01
System: Windows 7, Lubuntu 12.04

Have you successfully used Pierogi to control your desktop?

I don’t have N900 so can’t test it.If you follow the suggestions suggested above then you’ll be able to control your PC via N900.

you have a smartphone right?
So just use the Team Viewer app.
& in case it is not available yet on your OS, just log into teamviewer through your browser at

better go for a wireless mouse and use it for controlling.

Benjamin

That would be probably be the least fiddly , i.e. most elegant solution
but I’d have to buy it first.
Also I tried one from Logitech with Unifying receiver, but I have to mount the receiver on the front usb port, otherwise the connection is unreliable. I’d like to keep the front ports free though for flash drives etc.
What’s your preferred wireless mouse?

yes, the receiver has it’s own reach and hence needs front mounting. An alternate would be to get a USB extension and plug the receiver in it, moving it closer to your couch. this would also give u multiple usb ports.

as for me, i don’t like wireless mouse as they are very small for my hand, battery dependency and the receiver could be lost/broken easily.
