How can I re-install Freecell?

I have no idea how it happened, but Freecell is completely gone. I’ve searched the computer, including hidden folders, and all that’s left are a shortcut to nothing, and an empty folder. How do I get it back?

Never mind.  I did a search on FreeCell again, this time when it asked me if I wanted more results, I said yes and found the FreeCell.exe file.  I was able to copy a shortcut to the Games folder, so all is well now.  Thanks for the suggestions!

    you dint mention your OS.

    well for Win7 ,
here's what you should try --

On the left hand side there is an option that says, "Turn Windows features on or off"  click that.

Click the plus sign next to Games, and you should see FreeCell there
with no check mark next to it.  Click it so there IS a check mark.  Hit
    Ok, and it should reinstall.

    for XP--

Go into Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs, then click the Add/Remove
Windows Components in the left pane.
With Accessories and Utilities highlighted on the first screen, click the Details button. Single left-click Games in the next screen to highlight it, then again click the
     Details button.
On the resulting screen you can add or remove check marks
from any of the listed games. OK your way back twice (two screens) then
click the Next button and finally Finish.

sorry for the typo error --

      for Win7 -

Click on START, Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features

On the left hand side there is an option that will say, "Turn Windows features on or off"  . click that.

in the window that opens ,
Click the plus sign next to Games, and you should see FreeCell there
with no check mark next to it.  Click it so there IS a check mark.  Hit
      Ok, and it should reinstall.

I did try that, except that FreeCell was already checked off. Unchecking and rechecking didn't help. Any further suggestions?

          OS plz ?

          as a try out ,
          do a system restore .

start > accessories > system tools > system restore .
and take the system back to a date when the game was there .

it might restored the game back .
and tell if it works or more help needed ....

i guess you referred to your system being a Win7 .

as another work around , try this .

create a new Administrator account , and launch the Games folder from it .
and see if it is available there .

if not , then try doing the same steps of turning off and turning on the windows features from this new account .

after enabling the Frrecell from windows features and if it is still not available ,
try running the Windows Update .

it might just download it afresh . or unlock it or reinstall it ..

try and see , what works ....
