Can you recommend C and C++ programming projects for beginners?

I am at the beginner level of programming in C. I want to work on some minor projects in C. I am talking about only C, not C++ projects. There are a lot of sites out there to guide you in programming, but I need to work on some simple projects and not just the sample codes. So, if you know of any good source, please share. Thanks in advance.

PS: It would be nice if you could tell me some source for C++ projects as well. Cause I am learning C++ these days. That way I won’t have to ask again when I finish C++.

Either start your own small project or work on plugins or bug fixes for other projects

it is fairly big, but the code itself is fairly well laid out and easy to work with
