I’m looking for recommendations for multiplayer LAN games suitable for teens to play in a community technology centre. That is, not so gory that the management will faint!

Need For Speed Most Wanted (NFS MW) is all time favorite and it's amazing cars, performance. One can challenge with his rivals with the race.It will be exciting.Rise of Nations and Patriots, Crusader, Ages of Empires 3 are all strategic games and very best for playing with neighbor up to 8 players.Have fun guys.. Enjoy the life.. :)

In terms of non-gory, Team Fortress 2 is the best, as it takes an almost comic stance on the whole fight. It's also free now. http://www.tf2.com/freetoplay/

    RTS:
Rise of Nations, Rise of Legends, Warhammer, 40,000: Dawn of War + expansions, Sins of a Solar Empire, Age of Mythology, Company of Heroes

    RPG (and RPG-lite):
Neverwinter Nights 1, Freedom Force, Titan Quest + expansion, Diablo Battlechest, Hellgate: London

    FPS:
Any of the Unreal Tournament series (UT2004 probably has the best multiplayer mode in Onslaught), Quake 3: Arena, Battlefield 2 or 2142, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, COD, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2
