Mark O'Neill asks:
I am currently building a webpage via WordPress and I want to install a video in the sidebar. I don’t want to use video streaming services such as YouTube or Vimeo because the video belongs to a local business, therefore I don’t have permission to host it on YouTube or Vimeo. I just want to be able to embed it on the webpage I am building (which I do have permission for).
Is there free software that enables me to quickly and easily use a video player and have the video playing on the webpage? Nothing fancy needed. As long as it has a start and stop button, and volume controls. Thanks!

July 16, 2012Try this one: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/embedded-video-with-link/screenshots/
You can just upload the video, and play it with the built in player.
But, no solution will be *secure*. I mean, anyone will still be able to download it , obviously.
I think a better answer would be to ask permission to just host on youtube!

July 17, 2012Hey everyone. Many thanks for all your suggestions. I finally found a good one from the list that Alan suggested. When the page goes live, I will post the link here if you want to see how the embedded video turned out.
