How can I reclaim an old account name on Facebook?

I started my FB account as “FnameLname”, but quickly changed it through my options to “FnameMaidennameLname”. I still want to use “FnameMaidennameLname” but would like to create a fan page called “FnameLname”.

The www.facebook.com/FnameLname is said to be defunct. I think it’s because I had it at one point in time. Is there a way to reclaim it as a fan page w/o messing up my current www.facebook.com/FnameMaidennameLname account?

Ask the Facebook team as they should be able to help as they work there.

Another possibility is that someone has taken that account name, making it unusable to you :(

If it's not taken already just send them an email

If you want to claim some old account , you should have something that proves that it is yours . For example if the old account is with your real name , you can send some kind of ID to enable your account back

Log in through your http://www.facebook.com/FnameLname account and convert it into a page. https://www.facebook.com/help?page=213602951994043

Yeah just send out a mail to them and someone from the User accounts team will get back to you.

I would recommend asking facebook themselves, if anyone can help, they should be able to.
