Can you read EXIF data after editing with Photoshop?

Yes, just make sure to use “Save As” when saving the image. Don’t use the “Save for Web”, it strips the EXIF data.

Also if you cut/crop and then copy and paste the original image (or part of it) on a new background and save it as new file, the EXIF data will no longer be there. To keep the EXIF data all the edits must be done on the original image.
