Is there anyway that I can continue to use my old HP4M printer with my new mac? Love the printer and it still has a lot of years in it yet, but don’t know how to transition it or is this impossible?

buy an adapter and then try GutenPrint (i believe this comes preinstalled on the newer mac versions)

Tina is absolutely right. Get a parallel to USB cable converter. Although I believe that the printer driver may be built in to the OS. Which version of OS X are you using?

    Sue,

you can use an adapter from parallel cable to USB, so that is not a problem.
    Amazon has them: http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Innovations-USB545C-Parallel-Cable/dp/B000086TKQ

    Is your HP4M a LaserJet?
In that case you'll find the drivers here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=25487&prodTypeId=18972&pnameOID=15044

    Good luck!
