Asif Mumtaz asks:
When I want to add a website as a shortcut in Windows 7 taskbar, I can easily do it with Chrome. But how do I do the same thing with folders from my hard drive?
For instance, I want to add a shortcut to a folder called ‘work’ to my taskbar. How do i do it?
I know I can add folders in the jump list but I wanted to know about adding separate icons in the taskbar for folders.

July 26, 2012The following link offers two option:
(a) by creating a “fake” application that opens the folder
(b) by creating a shortcut
http://downloadsquad.switched.com/2010/04/24/how-to-pin-multiple-folders-to-your-windows-7-taskbar/
Either way the pinned items (fake application or shortcut) have to saved somewhere. You cannot delete them or the pin won’t work.
Creating a fake application will work. That’s what I was looking for
@everyone else: i wasn’t asking ‘how to pin programs to taskbar’

July 26, 2012Hi Asif, if I understood your question right.
do this steps >>
right-click on taskbar
select Toolbar at the top
then choose New toolbar option
then it lets you choose folders on your hard drive to pin to taskbar as quicklaunch.
Thanks. works like a charm.
