I saw on MakeUseOf this photo from geek culture http://www.geekculture.com/joyoftech/joyarchives/1658.html here //www.makeuseof.com/tech-fun/ipad-3-facts/ to put these type of pictures for our blog do we need to ask permission first from the site or can we just share it?

No unless they are protected by any copyright law.

If you really want to be on the safe side and avoid being accussed of using the contents without appropriate permission, simply go to the photo stock websites and find your photos there. You have to buy them but at least you will have peace of mind nobody will come knocking on your door and asking you questions :D

Hello, best option would be to visit the original site.  Sometimes they let you use the pictures for free as long as you provide a link to their site or mention them as source.

Material on web sites (or anywhere else on the Internet) is copyright unless specifically indicated otherwise. There may be licensing information on the web site, and indeed the site may be happy to let you use the material through a Creative Commons license or similar, but in the absence of explicit permission on the site/picture, you must ask for written permission to use it.

you can contact them and ask for permission. You can also use search engine to get similar photo that you can use freely.

CCFinder is short for Creative Commons Finder and it finds pictures published
    under the Creative Commons License.

If you read the home page of the web site, it clearly says images are available for licensing. Even if it didn't say that, the content is copyrighted, so any unauthorized use is a violation of copyright laws and subject you to severe penalties, including mandatory prison time.

To find out if you can license something and the cost, read this page: http://www.geekculture.com/joyoftech/licensing/licensing.html
