What is the most detailed and useful Windows application available for backing up and restoring ALL data from my iPhone 4? Not just music and movies, but also my apps, podcasts, voice memos, SMS, contacts, Call Logs, etc.

September 8, 2011The best application is iTunes; why can’t you use that?
The only other way I know of to do it is this:
1. SFTP into the iPhone with WinSCP and goto: /private/var/mobile/Library.
2. Copy the contents of that directory to your computer if you want a backup of everything.

September 9, 2011My first guess would be using something like iPhone Explorer to backup and “restore” (copy back) everything on file level.

Ultimately I have no idea if it’s possible without iTunes. There might be Unique-ID’s and index and stuff that may render this procedure impossible..

September 18, 2011For videos and songs in particular I would recommend CopyTransManager, http://www.copytrans.net/copytransmanager.php
As I said though, you wont be able to backups SMS and other details like call logs with it.
