I own an Acer Chromebook C720 with 16GB SSD. Are there any extra steps I need to take to install Ubuntu LTS on it? Will I need to do anything different to get a LTS version instead of a standard version? Thanks.

Hello Kamil, I'm really glad you asked this question as I planned on getting a Chromebook C720 with ChrUbuntu. There are some additional steps involved, although it's not particularly difficult to do:

That's about it. The article is really well detailed and has options for both Intel and ARM-based Chromebooks. Good luck!

I did see that guide, but is there anything different I need to do to get LTS?

      Nothing different.

LTS = Long Term Support which means Canonical will support it with updates for 5 years.

I understand what LTS is, I just don't know if following the guide (or any other) will ask or let me chose a LTS version.

12.04 is the LTS version of Ubuntu, if I remember correctly.
