the idea is to export the bookmarks as html file, then can be importes to various web browsers.
How to Import Bookmarks from Safari into Google Chrome
1.Open Safari application.
2.Click “File” > “Export Bookmarks”.
3.Click “Save” button to save.
On Google
4.Open Google Chrome application.
5.Click Personalize Google button, and then click “Bookmark manage”.
6.Click “Tools” button.
7.Click “Import bookmarks”.
8.Selcect bookmarks file, and then click “Open” button.

I was VERY late to even check this out (thought I had my own better system) but I must say when I finally gave it a shot, I was impressed.
Why import/export when you can Sync!
