How can I get .mov movies with slow motion effects to work or how can I convert them to .avi?

Emma asks:

I need to make a video that includes slow motion effects. I have Windows Live Movie Maker and the effects arn’t there. But when I got Windows Movie Maker where the effect are, my movies .MOV don’t work. So now I have to convert all my movies to .AVI if no one here can help?

You may have already done this, but have you looked at our video converters?

Just convert from .MOV to .AVI, and you should be good to go.

As for your slow motion issue. Were you able to fix that on your own? Forgive me, but I couldn’t really tell by your question.

Download a copy of AVS Video Converter.  Google it and you should be able to find a copy online.  It’s fairly simple to use and converts between just about any video format you can think of.  Then, if you convert it to a format that you can import into Windows Movie Maker (.asf, .avi, .wmv, mpeg1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v,
.mp2) and use the slow motion effect on your video.  If you’re a Mac user, you should be able to convert it to a format that can import into Adobe After Effects and use a slow motion effect on it.
