Macbook pro 15 has a better battery life, better benchmark better graphoc card, but for portability is the 13, also depends on your usage.

Hello, if you do not require/use a dvd/cd drive, you could get the 13" Macbook air with an SSD drive as default.  It would cost you about a 100$ more......If you need a cd/dvd drive you could get the 13" Macbook pro.  With regards to hard drive, if you need lots of space you can get one with the default drive....If you are looking for hard drive speed, select one with SSD drive.  Best thing for you to do, would be to visit the following site:

    http://www.apple.com/why-mac/compare/notebooks.html

Once there, scroll down to end of specifications and select build your own.  In the next page it takes you to, it should give you two options.

Select the one you prefer as a base system.  If I were you, I would select the one based on a 2.8 GHz processor....it all depends on how much you are willing to spend and what you are using it for.  Once you have selected that, you can add other things you would like or select defaults.  Keep in mind that you are the only one that knows what you will be using the laptop for....also, remember that the more extra stuff you add, the cost will increase.
