Are there any major problems with caching your WordPress blog?

Recently, as traffic on my blog increases, I was advised by tech support that my web server might benefit from adding caching to my WordPress blog. I know caching can reduce the server load, but are there any negatives to enabling caching?

The newest w3tc fixes a lot - but ive had problems in the past with some special page widget such as voting and stuff. try it and see is the best answer!

At this moment I'm not aware of any realĀ negativeĀ points in using a WordPress caching plugin (at least not for W3 Total Cache).

One point might be that the static HTML pages [which are generated] might not be up to date all the time but I guess this depends a lot on the settings and usually takes only a few minutes until it solves itself.
