What MAC software can single out, enlarge and track a moving object against a black background in iMovie?

I have a bright object against a black background. It’s moving and I want to single it out, enlarge it and keep it centered in the frame (track it). I am using iMovie. Anyone have any suggestions? I am in the market for additional software so this may also be a good time for that.

I think "motion" has some basic tracking abilities...and so does After Effects, not sure.
    or you could try...
    "Mocha",Syntheyes,PFTrack,or any other commercial tracker.
even open source software Blender has tracking abilities built into the latest versions//

I doubt you can do anything like that within iMovie - at least I'm not aware of any object tracking method or plugin for iMovie.

I think you will have to switch to more advanced tools like Avid Studio or Final Cut Pro.

But I'll leave the definite answer to any professional out there.
