One of my friends asked me to buy a LTE router with band 1/3/7/8/20 for him. After searching online for few days, I could only find Huawei 4G LTE E5172, and Huawei CPE B593 which may fit his needs. However, there are many different versions for E5172 and B593, could anyone tell me which version is okay? Thanks!

The LTE bands are rarely listed by their numbers so maybe it will help your search putting frequencies to them:
    band 20 = 800 MHz
    band 8 = 900 MHz
    band 3 = 1800 MHz
    band 1 = 2100 MHz
    band 7 = 2600 MHz

Band 20 is an EMEA region band wherein the others find global usage. Any LTE-modem/router sold in Europe should support band 3, 7 and 20. Band 1 is mostly used in Asia and band 8 is rare on a global level, only a handful of countries are using it.

If you (or your friend) can live without band 1 & 8 you can buy pretty much any router for the European region. Some of them will also support band 8 so that would be possible too.

If you really need all of them including band 1 I believe Huawei is pretty much your only pick.
