Why can I no longer adjust LCD brightness when using battery power?

Abhigyan asks:

I am using Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 1420. I have all the latest drivers installed. However, for some strange reason, I cannot change the brightness of my LCD while it’s on battery power. I could do so perfectly till a few days back. Any ideas?

  • Ummm….I’m assuming you have something accidentally set in your energy savor settings that dims the LCD to save power. Try checking that out.

I was able to solve the problem by removing and reinstalling the Dell QuickSet. Apparently, Dell QuickSet makes some weird changes to the power settings.
