Why is my login screen blank after I changed my hard drive’s letter?

I changed my drive letter in Windows XP and I can’t logon because the logon screen is blank. Please how do I fix this?

    Hello, what drive did you change the letter for?  If you changed the drive letter from the C: drive in a one drive machine, this happens.  You would need to change the letter back to C: or you could try changing the path to where your operating system is now located by installing the recovery console and use the fixmbr and fixboot commands.

    check your Bios if the first boot order is on the hard drive containing windows
