Why can’t I log in to my file server when using Filezilla with Windows 8?

John Reese asks:

I running Windows 8, which is working great. The problem is with Filezilla and server log on. I know the ID and password is correct but the server keeps rejecting them. I look on MS web site, there is problem with Filezilla and other servers rejecting any log on with you are using Windows 8.

Is this an issue with the FileZilla client running on Win8 or are you running the server on the Win8 box?

The FileZilla is running on Win8 which is running on as stand alone OS>

It might be a bug related to FileZilla and try updating it to see whether it helps or not.Does this problem also occurs while using other OS like Windows 7

try to use some other program (like http://winscp.net) and see if you have the same problem. and check if you have some firewall blocking it…

I have tried 3 other FTP software packages, all give the same error. My password or ID are wrong, which they are correct. I notice on MS blog page for Windows 8 I am not alone with this problem. I have posted this bug to other blog sites. Still no solution to the problem.
