Why can’t my laptop open my memory card?

lexy ramos asks:

I have an 8gb nokia memory card that used to work fine but then some of the folders were accidentally deleted and I was left with images and music. When I tried to open it in my laptop it wont open and My Computer would become unresponsive. I’ve since formatted to drive to try and fix it, but my laptop still can’t open it.

I would check to see if it is listed in Disk Management:

    1. Open your start menu and Right Click my computer

    2. Select “Manage” from the menu

    3. When Computer Management comes up select “Disk Management” from the list one the left hand side

Your drive should be listed there, what is it showing? Is it assigned a drive letter?

Hello, what happens when you try the card in another laptop or a desktop with a memory card reader?  Does it open ok?  Is it recognized?
