Jayden asks:
Okay, it’s a laptop, and it’s a Toshiba. My keyboard must be jammed. My dad tried to fix it, nothing worked! Now I am using an onscreen keyboard. I sprayed a can of air on it! Isn’t that supposed help, not damage!

July 19, 2012device manager, find your keyboard, right click on it and choose uninstall then reboot, windows will install a new keyboard driver
Hold down the RIGHT Shift key for at least 8-10 seconds
Toshiba accessibility tool, open the accessibility tool and disable filter keys from there

Here is the fix for the keyboard malfunction:
1- Turn off computer, disconnect the power cord, remove the battery.
2- Press the Power On button for 10 seconds
3- Replace battery and/or connect power cord.
4- Turn On computer + immediately press F2 key repeatedly
5- Press F9 then press Enter
6- Press F10 then press Enter
Your computer will now re-start Windows and the keyboard should now work.

July 20, 2012It may be a hardware fault, or possibly a bad connection.
The first thing you can try is tapping each key a few times in case one is stuck and for some reason causing a problem with the whole keyboard.
The next option would be to remove the keyboard and check the connection. Depending on your model, you may be able to remove the keyboard simply, or it may require major disassembly. However, once you have access to the cable connector (likely a ribbon cable), disconnect it, clean the contacts, reconnect and try.
Failing that, it may just be a faulty keyboard.
If you are uncomfortable disassembling your laptop, take it to you local repair shop and let them have a look.

July 20, 2012if you are able to unpack your laptop, you can check , whether the keyboard bus already connected properly. If it is connected properly, then may be there is a problem with your circuit related to keyboard. If you are able to get in to your bios at the beginning and use your keyboard, better you follow the step like ha14 said.

July 21, 2012Try the McKenic Contact cleaner with the red cap.. It’s like a canned air spray but in a liquid form.. works like magic for me.. I always use them on my motherboard and other internal parts of computers..

July 24, 2012I followed Ha14′s steps and now my laptop won’t even switch on! Help
This is some situation! normally should not cause this problem unless the laptop has other hardware issues.
*Take out the battery,
*connect power cord,
*Hold power button down for 30 secs,
*Put only connect power cord, do not put battery in
*Turn laptop on
*Put the battery in.
