Is it possible to save a video with subtitles in AVI using Aegisub?

I have made a video in Windows Live Movie Maker, but I would like to add subtitles to it and I don’t want to do it in Windows Live Movie Maker because they don’t have a black contour around the white letters and that’s really important, otherwise you can’t read anything on a white background.
So I browsed on the internet and I found Aegisub. I like the subtitles there very much but I have one question. Before I spend all my time in adding my own subtitles I want to know in which format my video can be saved. It’s important to me that I can save this video with the subtitles on it in AVI so I can play it on my computer or burn in on a disc. Is it possible to save a video with subtitles in AVI using Aegisub?
