My iPod Touch 4G got stuck in DFU mode after a Shift and Restore. The restore went perfect with no errors, but as soon as it finished a message on iTunes said rebooting and then it got stuck in DFU mode (black screen).

Okay get redsn0w 0.9,11b1 and go to fix recovery under extras.... then delete hosts from windows/system32/drivers/etc... it should restore on itunes and work perfectly fine.

I'm having that issue since long time ago. There's an update for iTunes. Try the new version of iTunes, I'm going to try it tonight.
