iPhone will automatically sync and create a backup each time your iPhone is connected to your computer. If you want to manually create an iPhone backup though, it is very easy.

iOS and iTunes is not designed to synchronize a device (your iPhone) with multiple computers ~ unfortunately having a new computer with a new iTunes Library identifies as such.

I assume the reason this wasn't implemented at any time is because it would enable you to transfer commercial content from your iPhone to an unlimited number of computers ~ which could very well be exploited for piracy.Since you lost your previous Library your only option seems to be using a third party software to transfer all content (music, videos, photos) from your iPhone to the new computer.example for Windows:http://www.copytrans.net/http://www.macroplant.com/podtopc/example for Machttp://www.macroplant.com/podtomac/As for your Apps there was an update to the iTunes Store which allows you to view and re-download all previous purchases and downloads. All you have to do is to open the iTune Store, login with your iTunes Account. On the right hand side you will find a link called "Purchases" which will give you a list of the previously bought and downloaded apps.
