How can I let an iPhone 3GS transformed into iPod connect to the internet?

Anne asks:

I have an iPhone 3GS that I don’t use anymore and want to give to my daughter to use it as an iPod Touch.

Some apps I have for her need an internet connection. Is there a way I can have this iPhone connect to the internet?

I think you cant do it.
still you can try connecting to a wifi network
from settings>>wifi>>connect to a network.
It may not work without sim card.

You can connect to Internet through wifi without a sim card.

I did this for my daughters to have a music player in the their room. All you need to do is turn Airplane mode on and then turn Wifi back on.
