Why can’t my old iPhone 3G find any Wi-Fi networks?

mahangi asks:

I have an old iPhone 3G that cannot connect to any Wi-Fi networks. I have no phone service but I would just like to be able to connect to the internet using Wi-Fi so I can use Skype that way.

I have already reset and rebooted my phone and checked in settings that Wi-Fi is turned on, but I am still unable to find any networks. Help!

1.Turn off Push Email in Settings and restart your iPhone
2.Reset network settings. Touch Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.

Does the iPhone have a Wi-Fi address listed in Settings> General> About?

1. Switch to flight mode
2. Switch on wifi
3. Reboot
4. Connect wifi, wait for the icon to appear
5. Switch off flight mode

1. go to bluetooth settings and switch on bluetooth
2. wait for the bluetooth icon to come up
3. go to wifi settings and seeif your networks are there.
