Bec Craig asks:
I’m fixing my friend’s son’s iPhone. It’s not jailbroken, he only uses it to play games. It’s at the moment continuously cycling on the boot screen with the Apple logo.
I’ve tried rebooting it, restoring it via recovery mode and restoring it via DFU and it’s still doing it. I’m at a loss. Can anyone help?

I’m not stuck in DFU mode. It seems to restore fine but then gets stuck on the boot screen.

August 3, 2012Then it’s a problem related to battery.Try taking it to Apple store and ask them to replace the battery. Many users facing this problem gets their problem solved by this.
Battery? Really?… that wasn’t the answer I was expecting!! Are you able to explain for me how the battery would affect the boot cycle?… (don’t get me wrong, I believe you. I’m just interested to know!!)
August 3, 2012Firstly,I want to let you know that iFixit is a repair company that is very much famous for disassembling the parts of every new gadget that comes in the market and provides repair services. It also publishes how to disassemble a gadget in its site.
If you visit the link below and read the questions and answers, you’ll be able to draw conclusions that after replacing the battery and reassembling the connections inside the iPhone,it worked.
