Why does my internet connection freeze sometimes?

My internet freezes usually when I am downloading big files, or torrenting (mostly legal stuff), but my iPod Touch and Xbox live work fine.

Also this sometimes happens when I am just browsing. Google Chrome gets stuck on resolving host and the only way to solve this is to restart my computer.

set your torrent client to only use 60 or 70 percent of your maximum speed.

Your ISP might be also blocking you during the torrenting. Once my ISP was blocking me (if I download antything) during so called busy hours during the day. I suggest you contact them and ask about it.

Sounds familiar - it's like you have processes running that eventually eat up your bandwidth. If you don't already have a good antivirus software app installed, I'd highly recommend taking a look at some of those on Tina's list in the answer on the page below, and running a full scan on your system.

After that, consider optimizing your connection using Karl's advice:

    Good luck!
