You actually can, using WINE:

WINE is a bit of a dirty hack though, so it doesn’t always work. Try looking for LibreOffice or OpenOffice instead. They’re free and most Linux distributions include them out-of-the-box.

If you absolutely must have a rock-solid Office 2007 on Linux, try CodeWeavers CrossOver: http://www.codeweavers.com/products/crossover/

It’s a commercial app, so you have to pay for it. It’s just a customized version of the WINE software that you can get for free, but they’ve ensured it works properly with Office and will provide full support to get Office working properly.

I agree with Jay, try Open Office or Libre Office. You can find either in the software manager.
