Is there software that increases the speed of the Internet in Ubuntu?
I would also like a fast downloader like IDM or DAP on Ubuntu.

For download issues I'd suggest  DownThemAll add-on for firefox

    Hello Pratik,

I have found some software's that I have listed below for download

    JDownloader
    http://jdownloader.org/download/index

    MultiGet
    http://multiget.sourceforge.net/

    FreeRapid
    http://wordrider.net/freerapid/download.html

    Fatrat
    http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/fatrat

    Wget
    http://myubuntu.info/download-file-via-wget/

    Curl
    http://curl.haxx.se/download.html

    Aria2
    http://aria2.sourceforge.net/

    AND

    Website that has more downloaders

    http://www.ubuntugeek.com/list-of-download-managers-available-in-ubuntu.html
Also One more thing, The internet speed is all in the hands of how much your ISP is providing and for which tariff and net speed you are subscribed to..so you cannot increase the download speed more than the actual limit that your subscriber has assigned for you..

    ALSO

    some websites
    http://wordrider.net/freerapid/download.html
    http://www.ubuntugeek.com/install-steadyflow-download-manager-on-ubuntu-11-04natty.html

    I hope It Helped
    :)
