Paul Pruitt asks:
I have a piano and synthesizer mp3 that was supposedly composed for me by a “gigger” from fiverr.com, except it sounds very polished and it leads me to believe it may have been pirated from somewhere. Is there a site where you can upload music to get it identified to avoid copyright issues?

July 28, 2012in this case i doubt you would get in trouble,(that depends on where you are i guess) but the person who gave it to you would probably be the one at fault if it was copyrighted

July 28, 2012Shazam and SoundHound are two tools which analyze the song and come up with what they think it is. The youtube copywrite system works similarly. It listed to the first 30 seconds and if it is a copywrite song on file it marks it as being copywrited. Other alternatives can be found here.

Give one of those a shot.
Modern software used by amateurs can be quite high end these days, so it is definitely possible that the individual did create themselves.
I also agree with Jonas. You hired a person to do a legal job, and if they don’t, they not just violate your contract, but also the law.

July 31, 2012You actually use misleading title. That might hurt the chance of someone answering you. Nevertheless, if you use WinAmp then You can just right click on it and send it to Auto-Tag feature. It recognizes most songs I ever tried.
