Why is my HP 4110 series scanner installation not working?

Chances are the CD software is outdated. I had a similar issue with an HP all-in-one printer (wireless) whereby it just would not communicate. While pearl diving into HP’s website for drivers there was an update for all-in-one that when downloaded and executed completely made the printer functional for scanning, printing and fax. Hope this helps.
