To avoid PST file corruption due to the large size, I performed PST file compression using archive or Auto archive options. But strangely, even after compression, I am facing the PST file corruption. How is it possible?

    Hi John Park,
Splitting mechanism is more effective than compression technique to reduce size of heavy PST file. In this case, you failed to break PST file in small parts . A PST splitter software has ability to split your large PST file in to several small pieces. After performing splitting process, you have no reason to fear from corruption. See a detailed information about PST management at :

At this time, if you still have looking for a solution on corruption issues then use a PST repair tool.

if something wrong happened then this is not strange, perhaps pst repair will not work
if pst is too large try to divide and repeat your action

There's the old Inbox Repair Tool that I think MS Office installs when you install Outlook. Here is Microsoft's article about it: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/repair-outlook-data-files-pst-and-ost-HA010075831.aspx. The file name is SCANPST.EXE.

Another piece of freeware that might work is CopyPST: http://www.olfolders.de/Lang/English/PSTCopy/pstcopy1.htm.

This is a good comprehensive article that I think is up to date: http://www.slipstick.com/problems/repair-a-damaged-personal-folders-pst-file
