How to fix Macrium Reflect’s failure to save image file?

I am using Macrium Reflect (FREE) v5.2 and have been having no problems imaging my C: drive (2 partitions: Windows 7 32-bit and and all files) to external drive J:\.

Suddenly Macrium Reflect will run the image but only after a restart (I have Macrium Reflect set to shutdown upon image completion). I don’t find that the image has been saved. As a test, I imaged only the small Windows 7 partition and it ran and was saved on J: as specified. But the full image fails to be saved. I tried another test to external drive K:\. It too, failed to be saved.

Disk space is not an issue as my image file had been running 170GB and my J:\ has 600GB free space.

Macrium Reflect has a Forum but only for paying customers… BOO!

What is the error you are getting? Both Macrium Reflect and Windows Event Viewer should give you some error as to why it failed to complete the backup.

From the top of my head I would say it is probably an issue with Volume Shadow Copy. Maybe the following KB is of any help.
