How to enable speech recognition in Windows XP and Windows 7 computers? Either using Microsoft’s inbuilt software or through using a free third party option.

Is Google voice typing for Windows PC an option?

Type "Windows Speech Recognition" in the search box and start the program. A wizard will take you through the setup process. The results allegedly are quite good (I don't use it myself as I type faster and quieter than I talk!).
